Enrique Castrejon : Los Angeles, CA
These varied drawings of the HIV (Human Immunodeficiency virus) cell are my attempts to understand the structure and function of this infection. As a former HIV/STD testing counselor, research coordinator, and Disease Intervention Specialist these drawings measured in units, cell proteins, or statistical data from the Los Angeles County HIV/AIDS Surveillance annual report allowed me to increase awareness and inform our community about this infection, its stigma, and the resources available to reduce incidence of infection through prevention work, peer counseling, testing, and access to health care.
